Het organiserend comité, onder leiding van Prof. Ralph McInerny, drukt het als volgt uit:
“For more than a half century Father Leo Elders has been in the scholarly vanguard of interpreters of Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas. His study of Book Twelve of the Metaphysics is universally recognized by Aristotelian scholars as one of the best and most enlightening commentaries on that deep and enigmatic book. But Father Elders is first of all a student of Thomas Aquinas. His works on the moral thought of Thomas, on his metaphysics, as well as on a variety of other topics provide a range and depth of thought that makes him worthy of comparison to Thomas himself. The American Maritain Association is proud to confer on Father Elders its Lifetime Achievement Award, 2006.” |
